FLOCCULANT REDUCTION PROJECTS – Many mining companies, both large and small users have been able to significantly reduce their annual flocculant consumptions after contracting SLS technology to review their flocculant purchasing strategy, the flocculant selection and the application technique. The latest flocculant application analysis system is available with computerised fluid dynamic (CFD) modelling being able to be applied.

FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY - SLS Technology Pty Ltd has developed leading edge know how and intellectual property rights with respect to Fabric media water filtration systems. This system provides an alternative to sand filters that basically provides an equivalent separating filtration quality a filtration rates from 10 to 20 times faster. Various concepts have been developed to cater for domestic flows of litres per hour to the largest possible industrial flow rates well above 4,000 cubic metres per hours.

This picture highlights the capability of SLS’s fabric media filtration system. The 5 metre diameter sand filter is providing the same total volume flow rate and separation performance as the two metre Fabric Media filter on the right hand side. The additional benefits of the Fabric Media filtration system include 60% lower operating energy due to the lower lift height and significantly lower differential operating pressure, no lengthy shut downs for media replacement, no tank corrosion concerns, no spent media for disposal, simultaneous removal of hydrocarbon fats and grease.
